GAO Says 50% of Insurance Appeals are Successful

Ever had your insurer deny coverage of something your doctor says you need? Did you fight or let it go?

If you fought and won, you are one of fifty percent of consumers who prevailed in insurance appeals, according to a new GAO report on the subject. Insurers deny from 6 to 40 percent of claims. Thirty nine to 59 percent of all appeals are successful.
