The Health Plan Qualification Advisory Committee voted today to EXCLUDE from consideration as an Essential Health Benefit benchmark all three federal employee health benefit plans (FEHBPs). Since all remaining options cover elective abortion, that means that the EHB in Connecticut will be allowed to include elective abortions.
Lots of additional things to discuss and vote on, and we have to make sure the Exchange Board and the Governor accept the recommendations the Advisory Committees make -- but it looks like today was an important victory for choice in Connecticut. Jennifer
UPDATE: Here's a story in the Connecticut Mirror about this vote.
