Medicaid Cuts Affecting the Disabled
An important article about Medicaid cuts -- especially to home health care services -- that are affecting people with disabilities in the Wall St. Journal, as republished by Kaiser Health News. The full article is here. Jennifer
Having been disabled and on Medicaid in the past, I understand how important it is to have in home care. I was bed-ridden, unable to feed or bathe myself. I was also a single mother of 2 children under the age of 4. I was able to have an assistant come in and care for me for 20 hours a week, no more. It is critical for not only physical health, but also emotional and mental well being to have the necessary assistance to care for basic needs.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand? Why were the hours of the CNA Nurse cut to 28? This is a shame as I know first hand how much people rely on the carer. I hope that everything turns out for the best,
