P.S.

The lovely Dr. G actually gave me a hard time when he finally called after 2 pm. Although the endoscopy center nurse and anesthesiologist called me this morning as the day-after-scopes check in call, he blamed me for calling all these people -- just not true, and though I told him, it didn't seem to matter. Then he wouldn't let me have the next test near my house -- I had to go an hour away, and wait more than a month for an opening. I got no apology for the bruises on my neck or for not telling me on Friday that there had been a problem during the scopes -- he said he thought the anesthesiologist told me. In the end, I fired him. I don't know what I'm going to do next, but I know I'm not going to be in the hands of someone who thinks bruising is okay, no apology or explanation required.

I kept thinking today about what I would say to one of you if you called and told me this story about scopes and bruises and waiting a month for an MRI when you're sick. I'm pretty sure I'd have told you to find a new doctor. So I will. Jennifer

  1. Jennifer,

I hope you find a much better doctor. Maybe you can go to an online support group and ask for recommendations.

I wonder what Dr. Ginsburg would have said if you had asked him how he would have responded if another doctor had treated his wife, and she came home with neck bruises and a new problem that wasn't included in the medical report. I bet in that scenario he too would have felt that it was SO not ok.

  2. What is the matter with some people? This makes me angry. I see a lot of doctors all the time. I have been lucky so far, however, my main doctor is getting frustrated with all the disability paperwork. Other than that, the treatment and referrals he gives have always seemed to me to be professional and caring. I hope that I do not have to go through finding o new doctor like you have.
