Grandfathered plans -- plans that existed before health reform was passed, and especially large group plans that were exempt from most state law regulations -- would like to remain exempt from most of the new law's requirements. However, the law seems intended to apply many provisions to them. The Washington Post discusses the issue
here. We know that the elimination of lifetime limits and the coverage of children to age 26 will apply to all plans. But what about minimum benefits packages, coverage of prevention, and so on? We all wait for the regulations to see what the answer is. Jennifer
