Can President Obama break the health insurance logjam? We are about to find out. He will hold a summit on health reform on February 25. It will be televised and bipartisan, but it will start with the proposals on the table, that passed the House and the Senate, so the Republicans area already grumbling because it won't start from scratch.
Is he being naive in thinking a discussion with Republicans can be productive, or will he be hailed as the greatest deal maker in history? We have to wait and see. Jennifer
Hello Ms. Jaff,
ReplyDeleteThis is slightly OT but have you heard of Senator McCain's bill called The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA). It
would repeal key sections of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act
(DSHEA). It sounds like they want to turn supplements into drugs and.or ban them.
Also, do you receive email from moveon.org? Calling for action re: healthcare reform today.
Go Saints
How are you doing?
Rabbit
Hi, Rabbit. I hadn't heard of that, but I'll look it up. All's well here -- just crazy busy, but it's all good. Hope you are well, too. J
ReplyDeleteRabbit, the bill would put dietary supplements under the authority of the FDA. That will make them more expensive. Of course, the idea is that it will make them safer, too, but we'll see. J
