I have seen these rescissions over many ...Jennifer,
I have seen these rescissions over many years. They are outright criminal. A prez for the people would bootstomp these companies into complete and total submission on Monday.
Capitalism, as classically defined, is the deployment of capital for maximum return in free markets. Since health is the ULTIMATE form of capital and since the doctor-patient interaction is a transaction of this capital, the capitalist/money model cannot apply primarily. By definition, it would have to profit at others' expense. Now this could be as simple as buying a stereo. If that stereo is made by sweat labor in China the margins are better...and so on. The music may be good and value may be seen. Medicine cannot run by that model. Money is involved, but it is secondary. Capitalism does not apply to medicine...and nor does communism. Just take Medicare, fix some things and lets get to #1 in the world, by next year.
One of the saddest things about this country is that we have ingenuity, resources and the technology to be the best. Because of the ascendant profit motive and captive politicians we are one of the worst.

Regards.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
